As some of you may know, google is discontinuing google reader as of July 1rst. Why? I do not know. I have to deal with a government agency on a regular basis and for the most part these interactions are frustrating and nonsensical. This agency had a certain way of doing things that worked perfectly fine and for some reason they changed their way of doing things and their new method does not work at all. When I complained about this to my mother in law, wondering why they had "fixed something that was not broken", she said "They changed it because it was working!"
I had to laugh. Maybe it's the same with google! Anyways, there is a very simple way to follow the blogs you have been following via google reader. You can actually follow any blog, including word press blogs, in this way. I contemplated writing my own tutorial on this but I would actually like to spend my spare time making minis instead. So I asked Brae from otterine.com blog for permission to provide a link from her blog explaining how this is done.
Most bloggers don't mind if you include a link to their blog, but I always ask. I think this is just good blogger etiquette. Brae said she will probably write a full tutorial about the upcoming changes regarding google reader, but in the meantime, this short explanation is fine.
Here it is! While you're at it, be sure to scroll through Brae's blog and look at her lovely creations in her Etsy shop. http://www.otterine.com/blog/blog1.php/following-my-blog
Ok, time for me to get back to my minis!
So long my friends!

I agree with your mother, that's the reason we have ABS brakes and all this computer crap on cars that we don't need...basicly all you need is a radio and if you have to call someone you need to pull over instead of driving into people
ReplyDeleteI love change. NOT!!! They are so annoying constantly changing things. First they say "do this it's so much better". Then they say "no it's no good after all." Thanks for the heads up about this.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
hugs♥,
Caroline
Hi Ruth! Thanks for the heads up about the up coming Google Reader changes!
ReplyDeleteI heard the news with the voice of doom thundering in my ears, I am techno-challenged and I also hate change, unless I'm in charge of it! So for now, I shall continue to stick my head in the sand and hope that it will go away.
