After examining the larger of the two boxes, and consulting with my friend Pat, who is very ingenious, we decided that the pink shadow box just needed some sprucing up.
Here is the picture my sister sent me right after she bought the boxes:
Now that my family knows I am always looking for miniatures, they keep finding some and giving them to me! I am very grateful for their generosity.
In this next photo I will show you some of my plans for the kitchen shadowbox.
We rearranged some of the minis and added the small bench, which is the bottom of a Michaels Hutch. |
It is a lovely and thoughtful sister you have. That's some good room boxes, I look forward to seeing what you will do about them.

Marisa :)
Thanks! The other one will be turned into a child's book corner/reading bench.
DeleteIsn't it fun when your family and friends are on "the lookout" for miniatures. It's amazing what they find. Your shadow boxes are a great find. IndyPoppy
ReplyDeleteYes, my parents travel a lot too and they always bring me home a gift. Last year I started asking for miniatures!

ReplyDeleteThanks! I will definitely enjoy reworking them!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds these shadow boxes. It's always fun to make small displays. You are so lucky to have these Michael's hutches to fill.

I'm looking forward to working on it too :) I ordered some blue spatter plates, a Jug and cups and bags of potatoes, flour and sugar on Ebay. With a bit of tweaking I think this shadowbox has the potential to be a real beauty!

Hi Kim ! Isn't it wonderful when you send out the 'scouts' and they return with good news after finding great stuff!? It is like having a hive of worker bees all looking for pollen for the Queen. I love kitchens and kitchen equipment and mini food blogs etc. so I am anxious to see what the final finish will be with your shadow boxes. I like the idea of bashing the Michael's hutches. Very clever!
