I follow Eli Roses' blog, and it's full of savvy social media tips explaining how to make social media a powerful marketing tool. She also includes general blogging advice. Her most recent post is full of practical tips. You can read her blog post here.
I am thinking of starting a Facebook page for Miniature Maven Diaries. I often come across links that I would love to share, but lately I haven't had much time for blogging.
The Edmonton Show and Sale is coming up....it will be Sunday June 15. I think I will start my facebook page after the show and sale!
I have been working on a template for my card stock display boxes and I will write a post later in the day when they are ready to be listed on Etsy.
I'll be back soon!

Thanks Anthea! It's hard for me to decide exactly how to market my miniature. Pinterest is actually a great marketing tool
DeleteBest of luck with your sales!
Hi Ruth. This has nothing to do with what you just blogged about. It's something I've been meaning to share with you. I once saw on Kris' blog that you're from Canada just like me and that you could not obtain card stock in the desirable weight that Kris uses which is 110lbs. Well, you can get some at amazon.ca. I first tried amazon.com because it's Canadian and reaches us faster. I got a pack of 150 sheets and it's the Georgia-Pacific mark. There really is a huge difference from the others. It was expensive with the shipping and handling but worth it. I thought you might be happy to know that if you don't already. It's always so much easier to work on a project when we have the correct supplies, don't you think? Especially projects of the magnitude that Kris has. These are huge undertakings and we are so much more assured of a successful outcome if we have what is called for.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know there was card stock that was thicker! When I make the little display boxes of toiletries I use two layers of card stock, other wise the display boxes are too flimsy.
DeleteThis is pretty easy to for me to do now because I started working with GIMP (free program similar to photoshop) and iDraw, which is for Macs.
I have a template and I just find patterns, fill them in and print out a whole sheet. Thanks fot the tip! I'll keep it in mind.
Hi Ruth! Thanks for the link and I did have a look at it too! I wish you all the best with the upcoming Edmonton Show! Having just finished mine here in Vancouver, I know how much preparation goes on trying to get stuff finished and organized and packed to get it there. Check lists everywhere! You seem very business savvy so I am sure that you will make a huge success of both the show and Face-book once you get yourself going! Have fun and take Lots of Photos!

Thanks for the tip Ruth! I am on my way other there now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I'm glad you found the tips helpful! I think consistency is the most important thing. Even if it's just once a month, if it's been 8 months and you haven't posted (And people don't know why you're away) you will likely loose some followers.
